SHAANDAAR crashed on the second day with collections of 7 crore nett taking its two day total to 18.75 crore nett. The drop on day two was a huge 40% but some places it was worse. The film had taken the best opening in Delhi city and East Punjab but the drop on day two in these places was just phenomenal.
Delhi city grossed 1.70 crore nett on day one and its second day figures were 75 lakhs nett - a drop of 55.88%. East Punjab was no better going to 62 lakhs nett from 1.42 crore nett on day one - a drop of 56.33%. These sort of drops are a killer especially as they come in the key regions for a premium multiplex film like SHAANDAAR.
The drops in mass centres were less but that was because the film did not open well in these centres. Also in some smaller centres there may well be no awareness of a Thursday release and the first day audience came on Friday. The drop in places like Rajasthan and CP Berar was in the 30% region.
