PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a solid hold on day eight with business in the 2-2.25 crore nett range. The film has held very strongly despite the release of SHAANDAAR and it's failure has also probably helped on its second Friday as its the same target audience. The drop on its eight day is around 60-65% which is excellent. It makes it even better in face of the competition.
The film has grossed 37 crore nett plus so far and it will easily cross the 50 crore nett mark. The weekend should go over 8 crore nett and it could even be flirting with 50 crore nett at the end of week two if the weekend shows more than expected growth.
SHAANDAAR has crashed at the box office so PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 will now dominate the box office till the release of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO. But in November it will pre Diwali period and box office collection is down in this period.
