FITNESS IS...
When people say, ‘Health is wealth’, it might seem like a small thing, but it’s actually the only truth of life. You can be successful or rich but if you are not fit, then what’s the point? This is for everyone — women or men. It’s not a one-day process or a 12-session thing. There’s this new trend that you can achieve the desired fitness in 12 sessions, which is just crap. It took me 11 years to achieve the fitness I wanted. It takes time and dedication.
SAME FOR WOMEN!
Fitness is as important for women as it is for any man because the human body is the same. Everyone should believe in staying fit and for that, do whatever it takes.
THAT’S A MYTH
Lifting weights won’t stunt your height. When people tell you otherwise, know that it’s the biggest myth. Your height depends on your genetics, weights have nothing to do with that.
I WANT TO...
I have never run a marathon before. But I have been thinking of running one. This body-building and running a marathon are two different things. So I will definitely run a marathon someday. But I will only run when I know I won’t finish it half-way.
A GREAT INITIATIVE
I have heard of the dna iCan initiative. It’s for all the mothers, sisters and the young girls out there. Everyone taking part is a brave thing. It doesn’t matter if you are completing the marathon. Only waking up in the morning, wearing your training shoes and going for the marathon in itself is a big achievement. For the ones who are completing it, I have no words for them because I have tried running and it’s difficult. Running is the best exercise and it’s even more difficult than lifting weights!

Fitness has become the most important part of my day, month and my year because I have grown up with sports and started training myself professionally when I was only 14 or 15. I don’t think I can do without fitness. In fact, no one should do without it. I get it from my family because my mom does her daily yoga for years now and my father is a runner. I have that atmosphere at home so there’s not one day that I miss doing it. Whether I do my gym, my dance, my martial arts — it’s my everyday regime. I up my cardio if I have to get in shape.
