One of the most eligible got bachelors of Indian cricket, Yuvraj Singh, engaged to British actress-model Hazel Keech on Wednesday in Bali. His mother Shabnam, who has stood by him like a rock, is a happy and proud would-be mother-in-law. Though she skipped the engagement in Bali, it wasn't a surprise to her as she knew about their romance for the past six months and supported Yuvi's choice.
Talking to Bombay Times from Mumbai, Shabnam confirmed, “Both Yuvi and I are very happy. I like the girl. Of course, I knew about the engagement. I should ask him why he chose Bali. Yuvi has now left for Baroda for a match and will be focussing on the game. The wedding date hasn't been decided yet. “
Mamma's boy Yuvi also sought the blessings of his guruji in Punjab before taking the decision. Speaking fondly of bahu-to-be, Hazel, Shabnam added, “Hazel is a reflection of me. We both have worked very hard in life. We are sentimental, honest, upright and we respect people, that's why I connect with her.“
Since Yuvi is a hardcore Punjabi and Hazel a Brit, we wondered if she had any apprehension about cultural differences. She added, “Hazel is more Indian than you can imagine. Besides, her mother is Hindu, so she's aware of a lot of things.“
While many believe Yuvi's decision to pop the question was really quick, Shabnam explained, “Sometimes you just know that someone is right for you.“
NEHA DHUPIA WISHES YUVRAJ AND HAZEL
Yuvi's close friend, actress Neha Dhupia wished the couple, saying, “I am very happy for the two of them and would like to wish them a fabulous life together. Now, I'm looking forward to the wedding!“

India's 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh got engaged to model-actress Hazel Keech in Bali. Yuvi made headlines recently after Hazel accompanied him to the wedding of his teammate Harbhajan Singh on October 31 in New Delhi.
As per reports, the couple will tie the knot in a traditional ceremony at the Hansaliwale Gurdwara in District Fatehgarh Sahib near Chandigarh.
Despite constant speculations, the cricketer has denied talk of marriage, which is reportedly set for February next year.
