On Friday, a day after Dussehra, Geeta Basra left for Jalandhar, where she will marry Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh on October 29. Before leaving Mumbai, the bride-to-be spent the entire day doing fittings of her outfits with designer Archana Kochhar.
We are told, the wedding trousseau is vintage-style. The Mehendi outfit comprises a lime yellow kurti and a pink lehenga with antique silver work. The Chuda ceremony ensemble, in particular, is bound to stand out as the garment is made with 'ahimsa silk' (where the silkworms are not killed) and is an orange lehenga and kurti. The silhouette is an interesting blend of a fish tail skirt and a sheer embroidered crop top. The wedding lehenga and choli is in red and gold, with the dupatta elegantly draped over-the-head. The bride will wear the kamarband and maang tikka as well. The reception lehenga is electric blue, teamed with a 1940s-style vintage blouse.
