PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 had a good first week of 34.50 crore nett apprx. The film had a good start and held up very well on the weekdays. Even with the release of SHAANDAAR on Thursday it remained largely unaffected. The film has managed to add nearly 14 crore nett over the weekdays which is excellent considering the weekend was less than 21 crore nett. The weekdays have added close to 70% of the weekend business
The film is fantastic in North India with both Delhi/UP and East Punjab set for a long run. The business of Mumbai which was weaker on the weekend held up strong on the weekdays.
The second Friday will determine where the film is going but the way it has held up on the weekdays it should be able to cross 50 crore nett mark and will do business at least four time more than PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA (2011).
