Sonam Kapoor is celebrating the response to the mint fresh version of Dheere Dheere that got nine million hits in just five days. While the original song is from the 90s film Aashiqui, the current version has been recreated by Yo Yo Honey Singh. This one is a special tribute by music honcho Bhushan Kumar in the memory of his late father Gulshan Kumar.
Sonam looks like a million bucks in the video directed by Ahmed Khan, shot in the picturesque locales of Istanbul. Ask her what it felt like being serenaded by Hrithik Roshan and she says, “He's a very good looking guy. Any girl would be flattered to have him romance her. Besides, Hrithik and I are a lucky pair. We have done a commercial together that was a huge hit and now this music video. I have received endless compliments for it.''
Refusing to bite the bait on being called beautiful, Sonam continues, “Frankly, I don't see myself as being a good-looking girl. When people compliment me for my looks I ask myself, why are they doing this? As I said earlier on, it is Hrithik who can bowl you over with his good looks and charm.''
On being asked why she chose this music video, Sonam adds, “Bhushan was doing this in the memory of his father. My dad (Anil Kapoor) and I have known Bhushan's family for decades. His sister Tulsi and I were in school together. Our families share a deep connect. When Bhushan mentioned to me that he was looking to do a fresh version of Dheere Dheere, which was one of his father's favourite songs, I told him I would be happy to be a part of it. He didn't have to ask me twice and there was no question of discussing a fee or anything of that sort. I am glad that he asked me to be a part of something that is so close to his heart.''
Would it be a film next for Hrithik and her? Sonam candidly replies, “I'm hoping this music video will make way for a movie. However, for a film one has to work out several other permutations and combinations. Both Hrithik and I have to be convinced about our individual roles and the script.''
