PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2 did well on day one as it grossed around 5.50-5.75 crore nett. PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA had failed to collect even 1 crore nett on day one. The film does have some brand value as with no face value it has managed to surpass many opening day collections of bigger films like BOMBAY VELVET, PIKU, KATTI BATTI and JAZBAA.
The film has done well in the North with Delhi/UP grossing 1.50 crore nett and East Punjab 80 Lakhs nett. The Delhi/UP collections are mainly from the Delhi side with UP cities outside Noida/Ghaziabad giving limited collections. The collections in Mumbai are bit less but that is expected as its a Delhi based film with no face value.
The film will need normal weekend trending to cross 20 crore nett in three days. A normal 20-30% increase on Saturday will see it cross the business of the first film but costs are also more than double of the first film.
WEDDING PULLAV was the best of the other releases but it will fail to hit the 10 lakhs nett mark.
