Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan makes his Bollywood debut with Mirzya, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who his sister Sonam worked with in Delhi-6. And now, Anil has given the nod to Mehra’s next. It would have to be a record of sorts for three members of the same family to work with the same director.
Says a source, “Rakeysh’s film is one of three films that Anil has signed this year, apart from Mubaraka and Jugalbandi. With Mehra, there is the trust factor, so Anil said yes.”
The source adds that while the film will be a commercial entertainer, it will have the same depth as all of Mehra’s films. “Anil truly believes that Rakeysh is one of the few Indian filmmakers who can spin sensible cinema into a box-office success.”
Ask Anil when he will do a film with Mehra and he says, “Very soon.” When asked to elaborate, he smiles, “Sooner than you can imagine..”
