Emraan Hashmi turns producer with Emraan Hashmi Films

This year seems to be an eventful one Emraan Hashmi. The actor, who turned author with for his book The Kiss Of Life a few months ago, is now set to expand his horizons as a producer with his banner Emraan Hashmi Films. Known as the 'hero of the masses', he played a cricketer in his recent outing, Azhar. A considerable chunk of its collections came from multiplexes.

After winning praise for his performance in the movie based on the life and times of the former Indian cricket captain, he attributed a major part of the credit to its director Tony D'Souza. In fact, the Bollywood star was so pleased with the response that he approached the man behind Azhar to helm his banner's maiden production venture.

The two are presently working on their exciting new venture, the details of which are being kept under wraps. All the director is willing to say for now is, “We are currently finalising the script and casting. We are planning to start the film in the last quarter of this year.“

This film will be produced by Emraan's company and Oddball Motion Pictures, which is owned by the Tony and Nitin Upadhyaya.

Emraan Hashmi ropes in Azhar director Tony D’Souza to helm his maiden production venture

Bollywood’s serial kisser is ready to take on a new role. Emraan Hashmi is joining the growing list of actors venturing into production. And for his maiden project, the actor is collaborating with his Azhar director, Tony D’Souza.

Says a source, “Emraan and Tony have discussed a few scripts and zeroed in on two. One is a drama and the other a comedy. They are yet to decide which to take up first. Once Emraan is back from his US vacation, things will be finalised.”

The 37-year-old actor decided to rope in Tony for his debut production venture apparently since he was elated over the response to his last release, Azhar. Tony confirms the story and adds, “After the success of Azhar, Emraan and I are happy to join hands on this venture. While we cannot disclose much at this juncture, we are finalising the script and the casting.”
