Nagesh Kukunoor's Dhanak has been tagged as a 'true family entertainer' by Kabir Khan, who has helmed films like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The director and his wife, Mini Mathur, were spellbound by the talent of Hetal Gada (Pari) and Krrish Chhabria (Chotu), who feature in the road movie. Recently, Mini held a special screening for some of her friends. Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Meiyang Chang, Maria Goretti, Archana Puran Singh and Dolly Thakore amongst others attended the screening.
Kabir says, “The child actors (Hetal and Krrish) are the film's backbone. They have performed extremely well and every person will be able to relate to the bond between the two siblings.“
Mini was bowled over by the heart-warming story that traces the colourful journey of a blind yet spirited boy and his loving sister who travel across the Rajasthan desert to get his eyesight back. She says, “The loving way in which they support each other and their crazy adventures make for relatable and memorable moments.“
Stressing on his belief that good content works, Kabir adds, “The beauty of the road journey across the Rajasthan desert is reflected in the impressive performances. I love the road journey genre. Dhanak is a beautiful film and I absolutely loved it.“ Going by his words, it seems Chotu and Pari are all set to win audiences over with their innocent charm on the big screen.
Dhanak, produced by Manish Mundra, Nagesh Kukunoor and Elahe Hiptoola, releases on June 17.
