Even as the promos of the fiction show, Kawach, are on air, the supernatural series has hit its first roadblock. A serious knee injury has forced its antagonist, played by actress Maheck Chahal, out of action for three weeks. The actress, who's making her debut in the fiction genre, has to wear a knee brace (from thigh to ankle). She says “I am a fitness freak and have been practising kick-boxing for 10 years now. During one of those sessions, I twisted my knee badly while practising a flying kick. I have always had weak knees, which has aggravated the injury. I have been advised by my doctor to take a three-week bed-rest. My physiotherapist will teach me to walk all over again.“
The actress has not been able to attend promotional events and the makers of the show are on tenterhooks regarding her ability to cope with the rigorous shooting demands. “This is a very wrong time and I am extremely upset. I can't say anything at the moment. The crew of the show was with me when I went for MRI and I couldn't stop crying. I have put in so much into the character. I would wake up early every morning to hit the gym to stay fit and look hot for the character,“ she says.
And what keeps her spirits high was having her beau, Ashmit Patel by her side. “It's a blessing to have him by my side. He changes my bandages four times a day, does the icing, puts my brace on and leg up.“
