HOUSEFULL 3: FIRST HINDI BLOCKBUSTER OF 2016?
The IPL season is finally over and like every year, the flow of biggies will sadly not start. After the release of Housefull 3 tomorrow, the holy month of Ramzan will commence due to which there would be no biggie till Eid. A section of audience stays away during Ramzan but Housefull 3 won’t have a problem as such. As it has been evident in the last few years, films like Baahubali and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag have exceled despite being released in the month of Ramzan.
Coming back to Housefull 3, this is the third part of a successful franchise. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani have been retained and this time, they have been joined by Abhishek Bachchan. Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri are the female leads. Chunky Pandey too is back to spread madness. Housefull 1 and 2 was directed by Sajid Khan but the third part has been directed by Sajid-Farhad, who also served as writers for Housefull 2. Like the previous parts, Housefull 3 has been shot in UK and consists of loads of madness, confusion and a house full of mad and funny characters. The songs have caught attention but aren’t chartbusters.
The buzz for the film is there. But a section of viewers are skeptical about the film. Also, comparisons have obviously started taking place, with many feeling that the gags and one liners in the previous parts were better. However, a good opening is definitely on the cards for Housefull 3. There hasn’t been a big Hindi release since the release of Baaghi in April-end 2016. Moreover, Housefull 3 is a complete family entertainer and hence, it definitely has a chance to excel. The weekend should be strong and what happens thereafter will depend on the word of mouth.
