It's been a year since All Stars Football Club (ASFC), captained by Abhishek Bachchan, lost to Virat Kohli's All Hearts Football Club (AHFC) at a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Now, with the two teams gearing up for a second face-off in Mumbai on June 4, the filmi gang is determined to snag the prize.

“Last time the cricketers destroyed us in the first half, but we played well in the second half, finally losing 4-3.But we are going to win this year,“ asserts coach Nishant Mehra, a former Mumbai FC player and Technical Director at the club, who also serves as a midfielder for the celeb team. Filmmaker Bunty Walia's brainchild, the football team has been playing for charity for the last two years. This will be their first face-off of 2016.

“(Mahendra Singh) Dhoni is extremely quick, his acceleration is unparalleled. He's always in the squat position on field and is quick with the ball. Virat's drive to win is spectacular. He is competitive. Also, that the Indian cricket team practices football to stay fit and to warm up is a well-known fact but we have our own strengths too,“ says Nishant.

The other cricketers on field will be Ajinkya Rahane, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, R Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Varun Aaron, Ishant Sharma, Mayank Dagar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah. The filmi team also boasts of Dino Morea, Kartik Aryan, Raj Kundra, Shabir Ahluwalia, Karan Wahi, Karan Mehra, Sachiin Joshi, Armaan Jain, Marc Robinson, Rohan Shrestha, Vivian Dsena, Nishant Mehra and Caesar Gonsalves.

The B-townies assemble at a Bandra school ground every Sunday at 5 pm and usually spend time discussing the ongoing English Premiere League. “All of us support different teams and we're passionate about football so it's fun,“ says Nishant, adding that the banter is followed by 20 minutes of stretching, yoga and breathing exercises. “There are 40-minute drills of dribbling, passing and shooting followed by a 90-minute game, after which the boys discuss the pros and cons of what happened on field to better themselves for D-Day,“ Nishant adds.

“There are no distractions and everybody arrives before time. Latecomers are discouraged with incessant leg-pulling. Our plan for the match next week is to be patient and keep the ball. We're 11 guys with an attitude to beat any professional team,“ he asserts.
