Post her superhit film Neerja, style icon and Bollywood superstar Sonam Kapoor who received rave reviews for her performance as the protagonist, has been maintaining a low profile. Bombay Times caught up with her a couple of times at her residence and asked her about her next projects. But the actress remained tightlipped. Recently, she took off to Austria with her parents for some spa time and one was waiting for her to get back and announce her next film. Instead, there's a surprise. Sonam's next baby is not a film. It is much more.
Sources say that the actress has been diligently working on launching her own app with an old friend, Varun Talreja. This makes her the first Indian actor to do something so novel. In association with Disciple Media, Sonam, who has a strong following across all social media platforms, is set to connect directly with her fans globally. The app will enable the actress to forge a deeper connection with her fan base through the use of their proprietary mobile app platform. Functions in the app include in-the-moment fan experiences - like real time live streaming, exclusive content, fan chats, competitions, app-only merchandise, messaging and social media aggregation.
Speaking on the same, Sonam affirms, “I absolutely adore my fans! One of the most enjoyable things about what I do is getting out there, meeting people and getting reactions about my work. My app means I'll now be able to keep in touch and share experiences with them, even when I'm busy filming.“
