Shahid Kapoor, who plays a rockstar with a substance abuse problem in Udta Punjab, admitted that this is his scariest character till date. “I knew I would regret if I let go off this movie just because I didn't have the guts to do it,“ he confessed, adding, “Rockstar Tommy Singh is by far the most eccentric character I have ever played. I had to understand the psyche of cocaine addict which was difficult since I don't even know what being high is all about. Moreover, I couldn't have looked like a regular healthy guy. This role required me to have the body of a man who has abused it for years.“
Interestingly, his quirky hairstyle became a point of argument between him and director Abhishek Chaubey. He revealed, “Initially, Abhishek thought I would botch up his realistic film but later, he loved the look.“
Whatever has gone behind making Shahid look like he does in the film, the results are trippy!
