MOWGLI TO FIGHT IT OUT WITH THE BHATTS THIS FRIDAY!

It would be an interesting clash tomorrow as two diametrically opposite films are set to release. While one is a Hollywood biggie that has nothing to worry in a way, the other is a small budget erotic thriller that can work thanks to it’s skin show and costs. My views:

THE JUNGLE BOOK: This is a popular tale throughout the world but more so in India as it’s based here. The writer Rudyard Kipling too was born and brought up here. And the TV show aired 2 decades back is still memorable. The film however is much more advanced and looks immensely exciting. Mowgli is played by an Indian American, Neel Sethi. The Hindi dubbed version too has chances of scoring big time as actors like Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan and Nana Patekar have lent their voices. Hence, not only the English but regional languages can also score. Friday is a Holiday in Maharashtra (Gudi Padwa) and hence, it can have a huge opening in the state.

LOVE GAMES: It is produced by Mukesh& Mahesh Bhatt and stars newcomer Gaurav Arora along with Patralekha and Tara Alisha Berry. This is an erotic thriller that deals with a story of swingers and the ‘games’ they indulge in. Adult erotic films in Bollywood nowadays get chopped off at the Censor table. But the Bhatts averted a similar fate for Love Games by fighting it out and trying to get a certificate in advance. Finally, only a few audio cuts were chopped off and all the intimate and drug related scenes are intact. The songs haven’t become big but the promos have caught attention. With the costs being low, the film can easily recover costs even if the opening is below the mark.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THE JUNGLE BOOK OR LOVE GAMES AND WHY? DO LET ME KNOW!
