John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome will finally be out in theatres from tomorrow evening (Thursday March 24). The film was conceived in 2013 and took a while to be shot and edited. It was to release last year on October 2 but then was postponed to February 5, 2016. Once again it got pushed and is now finally releasing tomorrow. The trailer hasn’t really got unanimous appreciation but has been loved for its action. John has worked extremely hard for this film and has trained for 14 hours a day in Thailand. And the results are stunning. Rocky Handsome is an official remake of the Korean film The Man From Nowhere but director Nishikant Kamat has made relevant changes. Nishikant himself features in the film as villain and he looks quite menacing. There’s also Shruti Haasan in the film, credited as a special appearance role. But the film’s focus is on the bond shared by John with the little Diya Chalwad. It might not seem as touching as Salman Khan-Harshaali Malhotra bond in Bajrangi Bhaijaan but it’s something that should be loved by audiences.
Sadly, the film has got an ‘A’ certificate due to the theme and violence. This will surely restrict the reach to an extent. Also, there’s the Hollywood biggie Batman Vs Superman: The Dawn Of Justice but it might not give a tough time to Rocky Handsome. What goes in favour of Rocky Handsome is that it’s getting a wide release on Good Friday which is a Holiday. Hence, it can earn well for the first 3 days and if the content is good, it can excel in the weekdays as well.
A lot of effort has gone into this film and the makers have genuinely tried to show action like never before. Here’s hoping Rocky Handsome manages to rock the viewers!
