Music runs in his genes, so it would be but natural for actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, grandson of the legendary Bollywood playback singer Mukesh Chand Mathur and son of singer-performer Nitin Mukesh to return to his roots quite seriously this time around. The actor is all set to release his debut album internationally.
Reveals our source, “Neil recently inked a deal with Venus Music Group, Los Angeles, for the production and distribution of his album, which features five songs. The actor will take the road show/live gig route to promote his album upon release across the UK, USA, Middle East and South East Asia.”
Says Neil, “The album will have romantic numbers, club tracks and collaborations and duets. It will have a mix of English and Hinglish tracks with a lot of piano, saxophone, drums, tabla and flute segments being used as intrinsic sounds.”
He maintains, “Music won’t be a full time activity for me because acting is my first love, but I’d like to give my best shot to my musical side because I have always taken great pride in my lineage, hence it would be more like a tribute. I have always believed that good music has no starting date and no expiration date.”
While he has worked in several films since his adult acting debut with Johnny Gaddaar, Neil has only sung for two films so far — Jail (Saiyan Ve) and Aa Dekhe Zara (Title Track).
