For his 78th birthday, Shashi Kapoor was back at his favourite haunt, Prithvi Theatre, where he spends many evenings. The veteran actor-filmmaker was surrounded by fans who presented him with a bouquet and sang the "Happy Birthday" song in the theatre's cafe.
The birthday boy's Junoon co-star, Nafisa Ali also turned up to wish him and rounded up everyone to sing a popular ditty from his 1968 social dramedy, Kanyadaan, "Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe".
Amitabh Bachchan who has featured alongside Kapoor in as many as 16 films, including Deewar, Silsila, Ajooba, and Kabhi Kabhi wasn't present at the impromptu do but he sent out a Twitter post to his favourite costar: "Shashi Kapoor birthday tomorrow 18th Mar .. !! Wishes for happiness and good health ..what times together !"
