This week saw 11 Hindi films release with two films ALIGARH and TERE BIN LADEN: DEAD OR ALIVE managing to get good releases but shows don't mean collections as both films had very poor reults.
TERE BIN LADEN: DEAD OR ALIVE which is a sequel of the 2010 film TERE BIN LADEN grossed a little under 1 crore nett. Tere Bin Laden in 2010 had collected 70 lakhs nett on 375 screens and that had opened to dull collections but still the opening was much better than the sequel released in 2016.
ALIGARHis a total washout and considering the topic of the film it is expected. The film won't even reach 50 lakhs nett on day one. Bigger films having homosexual characters are unable to survive as its just not accepted so a smaller film like ALIGARH had good chances of going this way. The makers tried to give a chance with a strategy of mainly late shows due to mature adult content but to no avail dye to weak content.
