When Divya Khosla Kumar made her debut as a leading lady opposite Bollywood superstar, Akshay Kumar in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo 12 years ago, little did she imagine that one day she would turn director.Nonetheless, she did, and her maiden directorial venture Yaariyan, which was backed by a great, youthful soundtrack, got the desired box office numbers.
Today as she stands on the threshold of her second directorial venture, a musical romance Sanam Re that features Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela (Yamaha Fascino Miss DivaMiss Universe India 2015), she is excited and elated. And, there is good reason for it. It so happens that the actress-director has also done a hot number in the film that releases on the Valentine's weekend.
The attractive, young filmmaker is happy that she has a sound support system in her husband, music honcho, Bhushan Kumar. The mother of a four-year-old son, Divya has surprised all those who've seen the song Humne Pee Rakhi Hai of this T-Series production, in which she is looking svelte and ultra-glamorous. In fact, there's also a buzz in the trade that Divya, who began her career in showbiz as a heroine, may be offered a lead role some time soon. However for the moment, she is busy poring over the final touches of Sanam Re, which releases on February 12, and seems to have no time to even look up.
