It’s no secret that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted Salman Khan as his Bajirao. The film was stuck for a decade because SLB thought a miracle would happen and Khan would do the film. It didn’t happen. And then Ranveer Singh came along and got cast in a role so close to the director’s heart. So much so, that the director could not separate Salman from his project. In the title credits of Bajirao Mastani there is a slide that simply says: For S. Ask SLB if the S stands for Salman, and the director simply smiles and says, “no comment.”
